CEO, Future Thinking
"Moin!" (As they say at all hours of the day and night in my homeland.)
My name is Maximilian and I am happy to be part of the RUP family since 01.12.2020. Growing up in Varel on the North Sea coast, I was drawn to skiing in Austria at least twice a year, even as a toddler. This connection and a Tyrolean ski instructor training led me to study in Vienna. During this time I met my Austrian wife Vanessa on the plane, founded my first start-up, invested/worked on more ideas and gained the one or other negative experience (New German: "Fuck up").
After selling licenses of my start-up's software solution, I was drawn to the University of St. Gallen in November 2017 as a project manager and PhD student. During this time, in addition to my research work, I was able to advise leading international companies such as Microsoft, Siemens and BMW on business model innovations, platform economies and ecosystems. In August, I successfully completed the doctorate. The grounds taught me more than any lecture, the academic work helped me understand my mistakes.
Future Thinking
Our time presents us with technological, economic, social and ecological challenges. According to a survey, 78% of executives believe their business model will have to change as a result of the Corona pandemic. That is why the new RUP unit "Future Thinking" was founded. We believe that there are many opportunities that we can take advantage of in the area of business model innovation and, by extension, all areas of communications. In my function as Managing Director, I am supported by my two Co-Managing Directors Carolina and Matthias.
