What is a business model?

A business model is a blueprint for how a company
creates & captures value.

It forms the basis for value creation and the success of a company and answers key questions such as: What does the company offer? Who does it offer this service to? How is the offer created and delivered? And why does the business model generate profit? Innovative business models enable companies to increase their competitiveness, stand out from the competition and operate successfully on the market in the long term. This is particularly important in times of rapid technological developments and fast-changing markets.

Innovation cycle

The cycle for success.
Innovation = Idea + Need + Execution

As a rule, innovations go through a life cycle: initially, an innovation gives a company a competitive advantage. However, as soon as competitors begin to imitate this success, the services become interchangeable for your customers and the potential for differentiation diminishes. It is therefore crucial to continuously question and adapt the business model.

Types of innovation

Invention = turn money into ideas.
Innovation = turn ideas into money

Invention is about turning money into ideas, while innovation is about turning ideas into money. There are different types of innovation that companies can use to increase their market value. Product and process innovation focuses on improving existing products and internal processes, which increases efficiency and improves quality. Service innovation aims to create new or improved services that enrich the customer experience and increase satisfaction. Business model innovation involves redesigning the way a company creates and captures value, which can be achieved through adjustments in the value chain, revenue model or customer relationships. Through the targeted application of these types of innovation, companies can achieve sustainable success and adapt dynamically to changing market conditions.
