"Design thinking is a way of working, a mindset, a set of methods, a knowledge modality, and also an iterative innovation process that always starts from people and their needs, and in the course of which various creativity methods that support divergent and convergent thinking are applied." (Martin J. Eppler, Friederike Hoffmann).
Companies that use this method are not only more innovative, but also more economical and sustainable. Together with ServiceDesign Linz , we have therefore organized a multi-day program around the topic of "Design Thinking" and "Service Design", the Summer Design Summit 2015.
// Design Thinking Academy
The five-day academy at the Tabakfabrik is part of the Summer Design Summit and offers participants the perfect opportunity to build their own skills in this method. Although the method has its origins in the creative industries, our program is aimed at both self-employed creative professionals and employees of companies and businesses who wish to further their education in this area.
The workshop leaders are proven experts and have been working intensively on this topic for years. And not only on a theoretical level, but above all on a practical one. Learning through play, networking with the other participants and of course the applicability to one's own projects or integration into one's own organization are the focus of these five days.

The compact execution of the workshops within 5 days (Academy) or 2 additional days (Innovation Camp) and the grand opening enables better networking through intensive collaboration over several days and improves knowledge transfer to boot. Connections to the individual days or focal points can thus be better recognized and utilized.

We want to give companies and creative professionals alike the tools they need to successfully apply design thinking and systematically find creative solutions. Only diversely composed teams create a high degree of innovation in practice and cross-fertilize each other.
In order to achieve this goal and to enable access also for students and EPU, we offer a reduced pricing for this group of participants. The prices are valid for the entire academy.

The foundation of your company or your self-employment must not be longer than 3 years ago. You can apply for the scholarships until June 4.
Participation in the workshops will equip participants with the tools to successfully apply the Design Thinking method and systematically find creative solutions. A mixture of design thinkers from academia and practice will provide the necessary input, and concrete tasks from companies or industries will also be addressed.
