Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984 in White Plains in the US state of New York. The young entrepreneur is the founder and CEO of Facebook Inc. In 2009 he became the youngest self-made billionaire in the world and in 2011 his fortune grew to 17.5 billion US dollars.

He founded the social network Facebook in 2004 with three other fellow students. The rapid growth of the company to an estimated total value of around 50 billion US dollars helped him to be named "Person of the Year" by New York's Time magazine, among others.
