Not a miracle, but research

young.hope, the research center for pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the University Hospital Salzburg, works to provide the best possible treatment for children with rare diseases. In our fundraising campaign, we tell the stories of real patients.

Sarah suffered from severe developmental disorders for a long time, Maria from internal bleeding due to a metabolic disease. Although both conditions were very rare or even unique in the world, the research team was able to find treatments that significantly reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. Hence the name young.hope: With this name we want to counteract the prejudice that rare diseases are not treatable and convey that research always gives a reason for hope.
